The coalition comprises Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) in Ghana, with interest in Population Health, Food and Nutrition, Action, and Gender Development, Environmental Sustainability and Climate and development Action.  Together we champion evidence informed advocacy for healthy living across the Ghanaian communities. Read more about our coalition members below.


The Ghana Public Health Association (GPHA) is a non-governmental organization established in 1992 and reincorporated in 2014 under the Companies Code of 1963 (ACT 179). GPHA aims to improve the health and wellbeing of all people in Ghana through professionalism, advocacy, and networking. They promote health, prevent diseases, provide timely treatment, and rehabilitate the disabled, collaborating locally and internationally.


The Ghana Non-Communicable Disease Alliance (GhNCDA) is a network of NGOs aiming for a healthy, NCD-free Ghana. Since 2017, it has focused on advocacy, capacity building, health promotion, and policy support. GhNCDA is a key government partner and a member of the National Steering Committee on NCDs. Notably, it was awarded by the UN in 2020 for its contributions.

 


The Ghana Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (GAND) represents licensed Dietitians and Nutritionists in Ghana. Founded from the merger of the Ghana Dietetic Association and Ghana Nutrition Association, GAND was launched on July 2, 2019, by First Lady Rebecca Akuffo Addo. The Academy advances nutritional knowledge through research, training, and professional development to ensure equitable access to nutrition services.


The Institute of Leadership and Development (INSLA) is a civil society center focused on leadership development and promoting health, safety, and productivity. Incorporated with various Ghanaian ministries, INSLA advocates for health promotion, good governance, women and youth empowerment, and quality education. They work on projects like substance abuse prevention, alcohol control, and promoting healthy diets. INSLA collaborates with local and international partners to advance their goals.


Songtaba advocates for the rights of women and children, particularly girls, in Northern Ghana. Committed to gender equality and justice, it collaborates with human rights organizations. Songtaba’s programs focus on Women’s Rights and Governance, Integrated Health, Food Security and Livelihoods, and Education across various regions of Ghana.

 

 
 


GAYO is a youth-led, gender-balanced advocacy group focused on environmental sustainability and community development. GAYO promotes living in harmony with nature to ensure sustainability. Their work spans climate change, disaster risk reduction, sustainable agriculture, circular economy, and renewable energy. With headquarters in Ghana, they are active in Botswana, Mali, Kenya, and Uganda. GAYO's mission is to address environmental issues through youth empowerment and public education.
